Final Conference Details

We look forward to seeing you at the CMDE Conference. Below you will find information that should answer any questions you might have.

  • Whova App is now active. Please be sure to download it early. We will be using this for all of our communication. A link was provided in your conference email.
  • The conference website,  cmdeconference.org, also contains the schedule; however, it may not be updated in real time. It will require your password that was provided in your registration letter. Whova should be your first choice for information once you are at the resort.
  • Our safety team has put together a document that concerns security while traveling. We encourage you to look it over before going to your airport. This document can be found under each catagory on the website, Safety and Security Concerns.
  • The Spiritual Life program is still seeking volunteers for:
    1. Interview and testimony evenings (4 people or couples needed)
    2. Family Feud games night (5-7 families or groups of 4 needed)
    3. Choir members – as many as possible!
Please contact gregoryakline@gmail.com to register your interest!
  • Our Greek contact will be providing transportation to the conference center. However, you must have provided us with your travel information, including your arriving flight date, flight information, and flight time. If you did not submit your travel information via the Google travel form that was sent out, please do so immediately. We will not be able to provide transportation without this information.
  • After March 15, if there is more than an hour change in your flights, or if you miss a flight connection, you should email CMDEtravel@gmail.com to let our transportation provider know. Please collect your baggage, then look for someone holding a sign “Welcome CMDE” as you reach the airport’s arrival hall, close to Gate B.
  • When you check in at registration at Golden Coast, you will receive an invoice in your packet. You will be paying for your room and board at the conference center to CMDE. We can take Visa, MasterCard, American Express, US Dollars, Euros, or checks from an American bank. You are welcome to pay your invoice at any time beginning April 2. We encourage you to skip the lines and pay early!
  • Our Greek travel planners are working to finalize the weekend excursions. The information regarding these options can be found on the Tour and Travel page. As soon as we have been given costs and sign-up links, we will add this to our website. You can pre-pay with a credit card on the travel website; however, if you wait to book onsite after you arrive, you will need to pay with cash.
  • Weather in Athens in early April could be cool, we encourage you to check a weather app for up-to-date information.  Layers and a lightweight jacket are appropriate.
  • Please bring any medications your family will need while at the conference, as they might not be readily available. The commission cannot provide specific medical care while at the conference. There will be a triage doctor on call for emergencies, but only to assess the situation, provide advice, and help arrange for care within the city.
  • There are swimming pools, a fitness center, tennis/pickleball courts, a basketball court, and opportunities for walking, biking, and running.
  • There is a member care team available for you during the conference. For more information, email  MemberCare.communication@gmail.com. Descriptions of member care services can be found on the conference website. You are encouraged to make advance appointments with a member of the team by using these links:
  • For Intensive Counseling (Intake and Consent Form): Adult  or Child
  • For Caring Conversation or Spiritual Direction (Consent Form): Adult or Child
  • Our children and teen leaders have worked very hard to ensure wonderful programming for your family. These are offered during all daytime academic sessions.
  • Other things you should pack? Musical instruments, pickleball racquets, European plug adapters, and an extra phone charger. Please make sure you are also accessible by downloading WhatsApp. Any emergency communication to parents will use this app.

Come with an open mind and heart, expecting a profitable and wonderful time together.

Looking forward to seeing you in less than a month.
